Ice Cream Social at Capitol Hill with Local Flavor
WASHINGTON, D.C. (November 7, 2019) North Dakota Senator, Kevin Cramer and South Dakota Senator, Mike Rounds hosted a joint ice cream social in Washington DC for their entire combined office staffs. This social event was held at Capitol Hill today at 11:45AM EST.
The idea behind the ice cream social stemmed from a friendly bet between the two Senators. Both gentlemen, competitive and loyal to their local University football teams, went all in on their respected teams during the Dakota Marker game of North Dakota State University versus South Dakota State University. Being each of the schools have their own ice cream flavors – NDSU Dynasty Delight and SDSU 25, with 25 flavors to choose from – it only made sense to have the stakes come down to ice cream; the winning team would provide their school’s flavor for everyone to sample and enjoy.
NDSU defeated SDSU in the Dakota Marker game, so today, the combined staffs were able to try the wonderful flavor of Cass Clay limited edition “Dynasty Delight” Ice Cream. Senator Cramer says, “I’ve always enjoyed following the NDSU Bison football team, and it was fun to be able to come together with Senator Rounds and support our local teams in a lighthearted, competitive manner. And the fact that we got to enjoy ice cream as a result, that was just an added bonus.”
